Peppermint Birthday Wishes

This was one of the images I stamped off the last time Paula and friends came over. We are so funny...we spend the first hour or so stamping like wild women trading off all new images we have acquired since our last visit. There is paper, ink and stamps EVERYWHERE! I have such a blast with that bunch!

Anyhoo...this is one of Pauline's MFT stamps. Going with my latest trend, I coloured with my copics and shaded with pencils. I did add some veins to the leaves with my .005 marker because I wanted a bit more detail. The picture doesn't show it, but there is also just a bit of glitter amongst the flowers. The border punch is Martha Stewart , the baubles are from Stamping Bella, and sentiment is Stamping Up. I also added a bit of stitching on this card because my machine just happened to be accessible!

Enjoy!

anudder birthday

Yesterday was Mark's birthday and we spent the day in Windsor. Oddly enough, this is not his card...I'm so pathethic I didn't make him a card. I'm kinda like a plumber who has leaky faucets in his own home! LOL! BUT...I did get him Sirius satellite radio and took him to dinner at one of our fav Italian restaurants. And we also browsed the big honkin LCBO where we got some new wines to try and on Mark's recommendation I splurged on a bottle of Taylor Fladgate 10 year old Tawny Port. OMG, it's gonna be really hard for me to ration myself on that stuff!

Todays card uses MFT Punny Farm. I stamped the first cow, masked him, then stamped the other two. Coloured the cows with my copic markers then added grass and a bit of blue sky with my pencils and gamsol. The sentiment is from River City Rubber Works and the sentiment inside says 'celebrate until the cows come home'. Used my spellbinder ribbon skide for the sentiment. Paired it up with Memory box paper, Papertrey ribbon, and SU river rock paper. so sad that it is no longer available.

We have a saying at work...

It goes like this and is usually passed through email (sometimes we even repeat it)...

Ohhhhhmmmmmmmm!

sometimes it end ends with...

Take a deep breath!

You see I work in an IT Department and things can get a littly hairy. I have a friend who works in the support area, and I work in the technical area (yes I am a techie...a programmer to be exact). So when things get a little wild we have a tendency to wig out, or sometimes called, 'snap like a twig'. ("Oooohhhh, SNAP!" is another one of our email favorites...hmmmm...mental note, I have various trees and/or branches and think I can also work that one into a card!).

So I thought it would be appropriate on my first day back to work after two glorious weeks of pretending to be retired to showcase this card. Actually, I made it on Saturday, in anticipation of what would come Monday. Now my original intent was to make this card for ME! To sit on my desk and remind me of those two glorious weeks hanging out in my ALMOST finished kitchen and pretenting to be retired. But then, I came across this Ohm Moisturizing Body Mist by OLAY. At that point I knew this card, and the body mist, was destined for her, my friend in support who sends me emails that say nothing but Ohhhhmmmmmm!

So the next time your internet is down, or blogger won't upload your photo, or Splitcoast is running really slow think of us programmers who are at the office, or got called away from a really good dinner at a favorite restaurant to go in to the office. We are trying our best to get you back online, picture us taking deep breaths and running around saying 'Ohhhmmmmmm'! (Okay, truth be told, some of us might be using language that is just a teeny bit more colorful!)

Namaste

Another Chatty Cathy and Class Cards

Here is the second card from my Chatty Cathy Sunday. This one is for a friend who doesn't know that I have a blog yet! Since both our lives are in a busy phase right now we rarely see each other these days. This card should bring a big smile to her face!
Again, I used copics to colour the image, paper is Basic Gray, Papertrey and Crate and how could I let this one go without using the Nesties! And of course, baubles from Stamping Bella!

Tonight I'll be busy cutting paper for the class I am teaching at Paper Pickle tomorrow. I always end up leaving it to the last minute and I ALWAYS regret it! It is a simple watercolour class using Tombow markers and a couple different sets from My Favorite things. These are the cards I am teaching in class.

And go check this out...Lucky Clucker posted the cards she made in class on her blog! I think she is a natural! How exciting it was to meet someone in my class who has a blog that I regularly read and I didn't even know it was her! WOW!!!!
