I've been MIA for the last couple days but I'm still alive! I decided that after a full week of working during the day, and making cards all night I needed a day off. So Monday night I just hunkered down on the sofa with the dog and a glass of wine. Last night I did some coloring, but nothing has made it onto a card yet. Maybe tomorrow, but no promises!
Remember that gifty tree, and snowy house...my fav's of the season! Well, they have taken a back seat to Polar bear circle! I think I'm in love with this icy blue and shimmery white combo! Plus he was pretty quick to color so that was a MAJOR bonus! I'll share a little secret...I can sometimes spend up to an hour colouring an image...and if they are REALLY detailed, I can take longer! I'm NOT a fast stamper! And then, I have the entire layout business to deal with. I get into a rut and tend to use the same three layouts repeatedly....have you noticed?...do you know which ones they are??? I sometimes go look at various sketch challenges, but they are often too busy for my taste so I just snuggle back into my comfort zone.
I used minimal copics on the scarf, present and bear, but then went at it with pencils for shading, and even added a bit of pencil shading on the bear. Then liquid applique was applied and doused with glitter! The large cut out circle is another spellbinders pendant die and it reminds me of a pretty lacy paper napkin that you might get in a fancy smanchy upscale piano bar to put your drink on! hmmmm....gives me an idea! I bought about 100 of those ultra thin coasters on ebay a couple years ago for the purpose of die cutting...maybe I'll make some fancy smanchy coasters for the holidays! Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I do still have more xmas cards that need putting together and if I don't get back here tomorrow I will DEFINITELY be back on Friday for this weeks Bellarific Challenge! You have until tomorrow at 5pm EST if you want to play and this week's challenge is Bling It On!...AND I have another one of Stamping bella's new releases for the occassion....hint....I think this is THE BEST hair I have evah done! I even impressed the hubs!
Thanks for dropping in....see you soon!

This is soooooo incredibly adorable!!! I would love to see a step by step coloring tutorial for this little bear. Your skills are wonderful. TFS
Beautiful card. I too would love to see how you color, especially the highlighted part around the image. I always give up on that and resort to chalk, but it just doesn't look the same.
Awwww he looks sooo sweet Linda! Such talent you have! ;-)
Very interesting post for many reasons. First, I'd like to say WOW. WOW, WOW, WOW. Your card is fabulous. Like you, I get stuck when it comes times to creating a layout. Colouring takes me a long time as well, so I really want a nice layout. For the past month, I have been trying to figure out what attracts me to your cards, and I came to a conclusion. It's your colouring, and the way your colours coordinate with your paper. Although I haven't noticed that you use three layouts repeatedly, I have noticed that your layouts are very simple. Paula uses simple too. Like so many bloggers, I'm still in the mind set that I have to use loads of embellishments, but you prove me wrong. Yesterday I created a card (isn't posted until Sat) and discovered that I like Cool Caribbean and white very much. Funny how you mentioned you like today's card for the same reason. Thanks for all your inspiration. I love reading your blog every day.
Oh, I LOVE this card with the cute little bear! Totally adorable!!! Keep making what you're comfortable, I never tire of your gorgeous colorings and designs :) tfs
