CPS116 - Gerbera Daisy

For today I decided use the Card Positioning System sketch CPS116...seriously, how could I NOT use it since the challenge is sponsored by Emily herself! Well, actually there are two reasons I decided to use it, 1) I am SKETCH CHALLENGED, 2) I spent all weekend painting my living and dining rooms so there was NO TIME to come up with a sketch myself. Not to mention at last minute on Saturday I decided to drive to Windsor and attend my high school's 80th anniversary reunion. Now, I'm not THAT old, but it has been 30+ years since I graduated high school and I knew that many of my classmates would be there, not to mention my two BFF's who I have not seen in nearly 20 years! Time has been really good to both of them and I hope now that our children are grown and (nearly) out of the house we won't lose touch for that long again.

Back to the card. I used Stamping Bella's Gerbera in Vase and as usual, colored with my copics and shaded with pencils. I did add a bit of glamour dust glitter with my Quickie glue pen to the center of the flower, and you know me, if it looks like it might be glass, it gets a nice thick coating of ranger glossy accents. I cut it out with my long nestie die and mounted it on Basic Grey Marrakech paper. To keep with the challenge sketch I added a row of Bella's dots secured with Micro Dots, the BEST way to secure embellies to ribbon!

Finally, I leave you with a pic of the gals who were (apparantly) always the life of the party at KCI!

Linda your card is beautiful not too mention your coloring. I checked the tips about copics and wow! that is how you color those beautiful backgrounds. I have been following another blog where someone asked about that technique and until today there is not a response to it. Oh well, I guess that not everyone is as kind as you are. I will direct that person to your blog. I thank you for that..

Hi there, found you by way of Allison's blog as she had one of your cards as her "must see" picks. Your colouring blows me over. I'm reading you have copic tips by an anonymous commentor--must check it out. Your work is fab. I'm subscribing. I live in Sarnia so I might run into you at the Pickle.
